The Bookshelf: A library that is slightly different from what you will see on your local furniture dealer, the books are put with some rotation, and there is also a plane that can hold your pens and stuff or even showcase a book..
How to Produce: Totally metal or partly metal. Legs / Support coloumns are for sure metal tubes or sticks welded, connected. But you might realise that it repeats for almost every level so this library can change in height if you wish to make it modular. The black part that holds the books are press cut metal plane that is bended automatically by pressing machine, but they could even be realised in plastics by injection molding! or they could be some high quality wood..
Possible Materials: The designer noted the following materials could be used in production: Plastic, Plastic, Metal.
Dimensions and Packaging: The enclosing box for a single Kita Plik Bookshelf is 838 mm x 2150 mm x 829 mm, each box contains a single Kita Plik Bookshelf and the bounding box dimensions for the package is 888 mm x 2200 mm x 879 mm, roughly 27 pieces fit into 20' standard container and 45 pieces fit into the larger 40' standard container..

Celtic Ube Stool #197 designed in 2008
Permanent Link : http://www.omcdesign.com/?design=197&type=Stool [View]

 |
|
|
The Stool: Inspired by the heraldic cube in Diablo(tm) and celtic designs, you can use it as an ubrella holder or even as stairs. PS: This is not actually a cube! It is a rectangualar prism..
How to Produce: Depending on material, from metal we can have fireproof furniture; press cut the plates (not so thin), cast the patterned sides and weld, this is of course one of many options! From plastics, we can have injection mold of a frame (the cube with 4 sides) and then we can insert the again injected molded sides that have the pattern shape. From ceramics, it could be same as plastics and I would like to see that! From glass.. the same as plastics. Wood might require some craftsmanship..
Possible Materials: The designer noted the following materials could be used in production: Metal, Plastic, Plastic.
Dimensions and Packaging: The enclosing box for a single Celtic Ube Stool is 410 mm x 375 mm x 375 mm, each box contains a single Celtic Ube Stool and the bounding box dimensions for the package is 460 mm x 425 mm x 425 mm, roughly 468 pieces fit into 20' standard container and 936 pieces fit into the larger 40' standard container..

The Bookshelf: Stacked up happy dinasourus rex bones, in a harmony of balance and tranquil feelings carrying knowledge? Well, this is just a library that has a strange shape, a shape that I like..
How to Produce: The library can grow to any hight as it is modular in structure, and it can be composed into 2 parts; planes, simple to realise from any material, and the bones - the supports required to be metal casting. You can stick, insert or join the parts depending on material of choice. This could for sure also be realised by wood, what a craftmanship!.
Possible Materials: The designer noted the following materials could be used in production: Plastic, Plastic, Metal.
Dimensions and Packaging: The enclosing box for a single Rexbone Bookshelf is 640 mm x 2113 mm x 377 mm, each box contains a single Rexbone Bookshelf and the bounding box dimensions for the package is 690 mm x 2163 mm x 427 mm, roughly 54 pieces fit into 20' standard container and 108 pieces fit into the larger 40' standard container..
